Klocke Estate is not your average Hudson Valley wedding venue.
Located just outside Hudson, New York, the estate sits high above 182 acres of vineyards and orchards and combines a working distillery, restaurant, event spaces and expansive Hudson Valley views. The property is rooted in agriculture, hospitality, food, spirits and a very particular sense of place.
And honestly?
That sounds like a pretty damn good place to get married.
Klocke offers several options for private events, including the Salon, Patio, Main Floor and full-estate buyouts. The property can also accommodate intimate weddings and micro weddings, with ceremony locations including the Salon, patio, distillery, south lawn and orchard.
What I find particularly interesting about Klocke as a wedding photographer is that it doesn’t feel like a wedding venue that happens to have a view.
It feels like a place.
There are vineyards.
Orchards.
The distillery.
The restaurant.
The Catskills in the distance.
The kind of architecture and interiors that make you want to photograph the details, but also the kind of landscape that makes you want to get outside and let the day breathe. A Klocke Estate wedding sends “Hudson Valley wedding” but way cooler.
These two approached their wedding day with a sense precise intentionality that set the bar high for the ideal space to celebrate in. For example, they wanted space to be alone together–to reset, pause and really ground themselves. They wanted space for a family-style dinner for their guests, a space for a ceremony, a greeting space to spend a moment with each guest who attended and they needed a top-tier meal and drinks.
I can tell you firsthand: Klocke Estate over-delivered.
But What Did It Feel Like?
For couples who love food, beautiful spaces, thoughtful hospitality and the idea of gathering somewhere that feels unlike a traditional ballroom, Klocke has a particularly compelling personality.
It’s not trying to be every wedding venue. It knows what it is. And I love venues like that.
The bar downstairs somehow provided a space for my couple to connect when they arrived to the wedding and was intimate without being stuffy. They then joined hands and strolled out past the patio into the vineyard where they stopped to pick flowers and laugh about how perfect the weather was. After heading back up to the main yard, they rested together before joining their families upstairs for the ceremony, dinner reception and dancing.
As a wedding photographer who leans into documentary-style observations on a wedding day, I can tell you this: it wasn’t just these two, it wasn’t just the weather, it wasn’t the fact that their families came from far and wide… it was the way Klocke met every emotional moment they were hoping to have with the unique one-of-a-kind space it offered.
And that? Is as high a complement as I can give.
